Working principle:

 

Non intrusive ultrasonic flow meters mainly use the frequency shift (Doppler effect) generated by the reflection of ultrasonic signals by particles or bubbles (discontinuous media) in the fluid when they propagate in the fluid to complete the measurement. This measurement technique is based on the physical phenomenon of sound waves being reflected by discontinuous media and changing frequency when propagating in flowing liquids. Specifically, when ultrasound is emitted into a pipeline filled with flowing liquid and reflected by discontinuous media in the liquid, the frequency of ultrasound will change, and this frequency is proportional to the flow rate of the liquid.
