Mass flow meter calibration is a meticulous and important process. The following are clear and detailed calibration steps and precautions compiled based on reference articles:
1. Calibration steps
Preparation
Make sure the flow meter has been installed in the correct position and has been cleaned, without dirt or sediment affecting accuracy.
Check the working environment to ensure that the temperature, pressure and other conditions meet the working requirements of the flow meter.
Prepare appropriate calibration tools or equipment, such as calibration liquids, standard flow meters, etc.
Determine the standard or procedure for calibration, usually based on the calibration guide or national standards provided by the manufacturer.
Check the flow meter status
Verify that the flow meter is in normal working condition and check for any damage or parts that need repair.
Zero point calibration (if necessary)
For flow meters that require zero point calibration, first ensure that the upstream and downstream valves are tightly closed and leak-free.
Open the valve on the pipeline and let the sensor fill with medium and flow for more than 5 minutes until the density stabilizes.
Close the downstream valve of the flow meter, then close the upstream valve, and wait for 3 to 5 minutes before zeroing.
The zeroing process generally takes 30 to 40 seconds to ensure that the fluid in the sensor is stable and the density is displayed as a stable value.
Perform calibration
Start the flowmeter according to the predetermined procedure and adjust it to the calibration mode.
Connect the calibration liquid or standard flowmeter to the flowmeter and ensure that there are no leaks in the connection.
According to the calibration guide or procedure, adjust the flowmeter step by step and record the readings at different flow rates.
Record data
During the calibration process, record the flowmeter readings and the data of the calibration equipment in detail.
Ensure that the recorded data is accurate, including the response time and stability of the flowmeter.
Compare and adjust
Compare the flowmeter readings with the data of the standard flowmeter.
If there is an error, adjust the flowmeter according to the manufacturer's instructions or expertise.
Verify the calibration effect
After the calibration is completed, perform a verification test to ensure the accuracy of the flowmeter.
Verification testing may include comparing with the standard flowmeter again or performing other accuracy tests.
Complete calibration
After confirming that the flowmeter has achieved the required accuracy, the calibration process is completed.
Record the calibration results and date and fill them in the calibration certificate or calibration log.
