Ultrasonic open channel flowmeter:

Ultrasonic open channel flowmeter uses the propagation time difference or phase difference of ultrasonic waves in the air to measure the water surface height (liquid level), and combines the geometric dimensions of the channel (such as width, slope, etc.) to calculate the flow. This flowmeter is non-contact measurement, easy to install, and suitable for a variety of channel shapes and flow ranges.

 

 

Doppler open channel flowmeter:

The Doppler open channel flowmeter uses the principle of Doppler effect to measure the movement speed of tiny particles (such as suspended matter, bubbles) in the water flow by emitting and receiving ultrasonic signals reflected back by these particles, thereby calculating the average speed of the water flow, and then calculating the flow rate in combination with the channel cross-sectional area. It is suitable for measuring fluids containing solid particles or bubbles.

 

Radar open channel flowmeter:

Radar open channel flowmeter uses radar wave measurement technology to measure the water surface height (liquid level) by emitting radar beams and receiving the signals reflected from the water surface, and then calculate the flow rate. This flowmeter has the advantages of long measurement distance and little environmental impact.

 

Float open channel flowmeter:

Float open channel flowmeter measures the water level by the buoyancy of the float in the water flow, and then calculates the flow rate in combination with the channel cross-sectional area. The float can be a mechanical buoy or an electronic buoy, the latter of which converts the float position into an electrical signal for transmission and processing through a sensor.

 

Pressure difference open channel flowmeter:

In some cases, the pressure difference in the channel (such as the upstream and downstream water level difference) can be used to infer the flow rate. This flowmeter is usually used in conjunction with flow measurement structures such as weir flumes and Parshall flumes to calculate the flow rate by measuring the water level difference and the channel geometry.

 

Laser open channel flowmeter:

Laser open channel flowmeter uses laser ranging technology to measure the water surface height (liquid level). Its principle is similar to that of radar open channel flowmeter, but uses laser as the measurement medium. Laser has higher measurement accuracy and longer measurement distance.

 

Velocity-area method open channel flowmeter:

The velocity-area method is an indirect method of measuring flow. It first measures the flow velocity at one or more points in the water flow through a flow meter (such as a propeller flow meter, an electromagnetic flow meter, etc.), and then calculates the flow rate by combining the channel cross-sectional area and the flow velocity distribution law. This method requires more manual operation and data processing, but has higher flexibility.
